THE WONDERING JEW

Wry On The Rocks

Going through a random accumulation of printed material tonight and ran onto a piece that is always causing me to chuckle. Especially having heard the terms used so frequently, but applied in different ways with different meanings of course.

TOP TEN SIGNS YOU'VE BEEN IN CORPORATE AMERICA TOO LONG . . . .

10. - You decide to re-organize your family into a "team based organization."

9. - You refer to dating as test marketing.

8. - You can spell "paradigm."

7. - You actually know what a paradigm is.

6. - You write executive summaries on your love letters.

5. - Your Valentine's Day cards have bullet points.

4. - You celebrate your wedding anniversary by conducting a performance review.

3. - You believe you never have any problems in your life, just "issues" and "improvement opportunities."

2. - You can explain to somebody the difference between "re-engineering," "down-sizing," "right sizing," and "FIRING PEOPLE."

And the number 1 sign you've been in corporate America too long . . . . .

1. - You use the term "value-added" without laughing.

I re-read it once again with a giggle and a snort.

Then there are a few tiny, soft Haiku.

First snow, then silence,

This thousand-dollar screen dies,

so beautifully.

Then

Stay the patient course.

Of little worth is your ire.

The network is down.

Third one a charm.

To have no errors

Would be life without meaning

No struggle, no joy.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++

My effort

A home made haiku,

Clumsy effort usually,

To act in the know.

- - - - - -

Now you know I am capable of idiocy in a five, seven, five format.

Not in a glass is Wry On The Rocks . . . . . . . . .
