THE WONDERING JEW

Talking About It

Mr. Bush appears to have said some good things, meaning well about slavery and the history of the slave trade by our countrymen.

There is always talk about slavery but not much really seems to be accomplished about wiping the abomination from this earth.

The US the UN and many other alphabetical entities talk about it and some even quote figures. But maybe I am just unobservant or something -- I haven't seen or heard much about anyone doing a darn thing to stop it.

Slavery has been in existence from the time of history and probably before, prehistory is somewhat silent, but it is an old curse by evil men. It denies the prerogatives of liberty and freedom of movement.

A lot of what I have read pretty well shows the two sides of slavery -- a countryman, the top dog sells some of his people to slavers. Personally I don't think any man has the God Given Right (or anyother kind of right) to sell another human into captivity and slavery. Then upon the payment of a price one human becomes the property of another who will have physical control over the slave. And come to mention it there is a big business in white slavery, which involves women and often girls.

What can the world do, concrete in effect to truly abolish slavery ? That is other than make these so very persuasive speeches that actually accomplish nothing.

Basically we have the world representatives meeting at the UN and little is being done about it, we all have our politicians here mouthing about slavery being a bad thing, while everyone turns their backs on what is actually happening this present day. You know, "We don't have slavery here we are too moral and upright to have such a thing in our country." Yeah, right, speak to the hand !

Could it possibly be that some grand day in the future that the powers of the world will get together and eliminate slavery from this earth ?

Or will it continue to be business as usual, doing little but Talking About It . . . . . . . . . . . . .
