THE WONDERING JEW

Inmates

Sometimes my mind is boggled and unaccepting of the hornswoggle that some of our ?Public?, ?Pubic?, ?Punic? servants try to put over on us -- while drawing big salaries to boot.

An article by Ken Guggenheim of the Associated Press "Terror Wagering Axed," in our Rocky Mountain News July 30 leads me to wonder.

Seems like some of those double dome, egghead, dipsits have now totally gone round the bend.

Lotta words to wade through here, but the nitty gritty of the whole thing is, "The Pentagons's Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency, working with two private partners would have set up an Internet futures trading market on events in the middle east."

I know, life is a big gamble all the way. But, but something like that, I think, is stupidity above and beyond Stoopy. A lottery I maybe could see, naaah, I couldn't see even that. It would make the mid-east situation a frivolity, a gambling game. One in which the winner could make the rest of the countries of our world losers regardless of who would take the marbles home and who the poor miserable losers were and one in which the Market-based entity could buy the outcome that they want.

Of course, there are cooler, smarter heads around and the whole thing was axed. But I would like to see that anyone concerned with that ridiculous plan be brought up before a court, charged with taking money under false pretences, attempting to perpetrate a scam to gain salaries.

Guess this is one time that Congress can't be faulted.

Martin Schram of Scripps Howard News Service starts his column - same paper - same date. "Memo to: Adm. John Poindexter RE: Your admirable Market-Based Pentagon Terrorism Betting Parlor Plan."

"Admiral, it is wonderful to see that you are back in the spotlight again, in the service of our country. So, despite the fact that shortsighted quibblers in the Congress and just about everwhere forced the Defense Department to reverse engines and torpedo your Information Awareness Office's pet plan to crate a worldwide betting parlor, with the Pentagon serving as bookie, I am writing to assure you that I intend to stand by your side." Then with tongue in his other cheek Martin Schram says further, "Everyone has missed the genius of what you did: You combined the essence of the grand Old Party's mantra of market-based solutions with a zest for new intelligence sources."

Further in his column he tells the name of the hoped for plan, funded by DARPA, the "Policy Analysis Market."

Now get this, "The theory the Pentagon explained, was that investors often outpredict intelligence experts because they research better when their own money is riding on the accuracy of their predicitons."

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

So, basically that Pentagon group has admitted that they cannot gather enough information from their own people and feel that the market hotshots can do better ? Are they outta their ever livin' minds ? Just thinking, isn't Poindexter the guy who wants to pry into what is going on inside our heads by comandeering all records of financial transactions,bookstore purchases and other private affairs and keep secret what he and his have done ? So to this Wondering Jew it appears that Poindexter and his people in the Pentagon is like a guy lost in the woods and without a compass saying, "Gotta orient myself, lets see now -- the moss always grows on the north side of trees. Huh, say, which way is north ? So like all good governmental agencies, "Lets get up another department to mess around and we can blame everything on them."

Looks to me that much of the Pentagon Poindexter personnel, himself prime are funny farm Inmates . . . . . . . . . .
