It was hard but we felt it had to be done. So we did it today. We got our daughter from the assisted living home and took her to her favorite place of all, McDonalds near where she lives. She will choose that every time over anywhere else suggested. We spent a leisurely time over the burgers, fries and drinks. Then we brought her to our apartment, we settled comfortably and then quietly told her of her brothers death. For a person who has little in the way of vocally communicating, she showed her grief in moans, cries and wondering looks. Wondering why I guess. We stayed quite awhile and then took her back to where she lives. Don't know for sure if this was a mile stone or another mill stone, I probably will be able to figure it out in time.

Prison abuse probes too limited some fear

In part - - - - - "Disparate inquiries into abuses of prisoners in Iraq and Afghanistan have so far left crucial questions of policy and operations unexamined, according to lawmakers from both parties and outside military experts. They say this may mean that the accountability of senior officers and Pentagon officials may remain unanswered."

"No investigation completely independent of the Pentagon exists to determine what led to the abuses at the Abu Ghraib prison and so far there has been no groundswell in Congress or elsewhere to create one."

According to the article some Republicans have begun to question whether the Pentagon's inquiries are to narrowly structured to establish the causes of the abuses, as Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld and others have pledged to do, and then to determine whether anyone in the chain of command was responsible for them.

The article goes on the delineate some of the questions and outlining some of the things that should be looked into.

In the end though, won't it narrow down to the action punishing a few enlisted folks and the chain of command live on through the miasma of obfuscation, isn't that how it happens Usually ? . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
