WHAT ISN'T ALLOWED TO BE SAID

I left out some things that are important to me from a recent entry. It involves my feelings about the right to protest -- the right to protest in a way that the targets of the protest will see and hear what is being said and done.

I think I have written before about the situation we once had in Denver a while back. By the anti-abortion protesters at clinics there was much clothing and arm grabbing, path blocking and the protesters trying to physically keep women from entering clinics.

Along with the physicallity of contact there were shouts and screams of "murderer" or worse, signs, banners, and waving of mutilated dolls.

Finally the city established a "bubble" making sure that protesters could come no closer than "x" feet to anyone going to the clinic. "x" feet being enough distance that physical contact between protesters and patients, doctors and medical personnel was impossible.

So, there in a nutshell --- protest was allowed, the shouting, screaming, banner waving and doll brandishing was not stopped, those people were allowed to protest to the top of their lungs and the people entering heard and saw all of that, but not touched.

It has been bad it appears to me, there have been acts of physical violence and the murder of doctors I remember reading.

Acts so very reprehensible that it boggles my mind, however makes me remember the Ku Klux Klan and the race riots of years gone by in our country.

My apologies to the ladies who called my attention to my lapse of attention to what I was saying.

I feel that all of us have the right to protest -- only peaceably though, AND PROTESTERS HAVE THE RIGHT TO BE PROTECTED FROM MANHANDLING it seems to me.

I remember the days of Franklin Delano Roosevelt when the Republicans were screaming to high heaven that we were becoming a Socialist Society, I wonder now if those people of that party who are muffling protests wish us to be a Fascist Society ? ? ? ? ?

In my way of thinking the greatest harm that can come to a country is from WHAT ISN'T ALLOWED TO BE SAID . . . . . . . . . . . . .
