NO CHANGE

An article in today's Rocky Mountain News by Deb Reichmann of the Associated Press, of which I shall quote a few passages. In part:

BUSH PLAYS DEFENSE

President starts '06 challenging critics, touting economy

CRAWFORD TEXAS -- "President Bush is starting his sixth year in office with a flurry of activity designed to defend U.S. action in Iraq, challenge critics who claim his methods of fighting terrorists infringe on civil liberties and trumpet upturns in the economy."

"On Sunday, the president defended a program that allows domestic spying on those suspected of having ties to terrorist groups.

"While the president makes his case in public, his aides will be preparing for looming battles with Congress over the renewal of the Patriot Act and the confirmation of Supreme Court nominee Samuel Alito."

"He'll use the backdrop of the White House to meet with a bipartisan group of former secretaries of state and defense to discuss terrorism and Iraq and to surround himslef with U.S. attorneys and to pressure lawmakers to renew the Patriot Act."

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Seems to me that Mr. Bush is still singing the same song: Freedom Iraq, Mission accomplished, strong economy and defending the electronic spying that can be used against any of us at the whim of whoever is minding the store at any given minute.

I think his definition of a strong economy is one wherein the businesses are making record profits. I have read several times that perhaps more folks are working jobs now, but their income is drastically lower than before they were laid off due to outsourcing and such things.

Perhaps he is circling the wagons, or attempting to, in order to promulgate the same old isht. Looks like there will be NO CHANGE
