TOO BUSY ?

Life continues, much the same as it always has, it seems to me. Now Katri-minations keep swirling in the depth of our administration and among those who don't like what they see. Margaret Ebrahim and John Solomon of the Associated Press have an article in today's Rocky Mountain News. Headline and sub-headline should be about enough, at least for me it would have been.

FEDS KNEW KATRINA WELL

From president on down, all discussed the coming devastation, videos reveal

Contents of the article pro and con -- to and fro -- front to back and back again. Stuff we've heard and suspected.

Me, personally, I am tired of hearing the recriminations, seeing all concerned standing in a circle and pointing the blame finger at the person on the right.

Even if high powered investigative panels are appointed and work hard, all they can tell us is that something went gravely wrong and these were the people who dropped the ball.

What I would dearly love to hear is truthful, substantial news about the work being done to rehabilitate the Gulf Coast, the good things that should be happening. But then, we have all these soldiers and military in Iraq and Afghanistan, getting shot at and bombed daily. They could be a helpful presence in the Gulf Coast states.

Seems to me that long, long before I was born the danger that New Orleans and environs lived in was well known, often money thrown at it only used to line the grafter's pockets. Never did seem to get better, but worse. The purse strings tightened, the available money diverted and the danger stayed at a catastrophic level. Memory stayed short, the Galveston Flood forgotten history.

So, are we going to continue to wallow in the past or are we going to refurbish, rebuild precious cities and environs on the Gulf Coast or are all the honchos so engaged in other things that they are TOO BUSY ? . . . . . . . . . .
