A very small item hid in mid-paper Rocky Mountain News on Aug. 2 in the National Briefing section. Quoted in full here:

UNDERCOVER FEDS USE FAKE IDs TO CROSS BORDERS

WASHINGTON -- Undercover investigators entered the United States using fake documents repeatedly this year -- including some cases in which Homeland Security Department agents didn't ask for identification."

" At nine border crossings, on both the Mexico and Canadian borders, agents "never questioned the authenticity of the counterfeit documents," according to Government Accountabillity Office testimony to be released today."

Homeland Security spokesman Jarrod Agen said agents are trained to identify false documents, but are sometimes unable to verify more than 8,000 different kinds of currently acceptable IDs without significantly slowing border traffic."

So why didn't the HS agents not ask for IDs ?

Guess Homeland Security and the other dead-feds better sort out the acceptables and get with the program.

And, if and when, they do perhaps the traffic will slow down significantly.

Or is it going according to administration plans, to put up a big HOMELAND SECURITY front while looking the other way as the rush to the USA continues ?
