Threads

In my mind and my senses, I feel a tapestry a-weaving.

I see each life as a thread, some drab, some vibrant, some just pretty. Some few of them are precious metals and others priceless gems.

Each thread is very important, it must take its place, somewhere in that vast expanse of beauty.

The quality of our own personal thread I think, is determined by wealth of family, training and the acceptance of training. Some like me are of a background brown. Others are of the sunshine yellow. Then the sky blue threads interweave usually above the vegetative greens.

I do not see that the course of the thread of each life as being irrevocably determined, rather to me it seems as if free will guides our direction.

There are snarls, lumps and sometimes holes. Which indicates that some lives have been messed up and caused those blemishes.

Looks to me as if each thread must follow the course it feels is right, and most of the threads interweave without conflict.

The threads of precious metals and gems I see as lives like Ghandi, Mother Theresa, Dr. Schweitzer and people of that ilk. Their interwoven threads make us live and breathe free people, able to enjoy the beauty of the tapestry spread behind us.

I suppose that I am rather dense, but that seems to be the best I can do in attempting to imagine some order in this world.

There it is stretching back into infinity behind us and with the possibility of being woven with increasing skill and love on into the future - - - if we don't destroy it by some foolish, selfish, suicidal act.

I feel privileged to be one of the background colors, striving to fit in with all the other Threads . . . . . .
