Top Kicked Off

Re-assessing things as they are from maybe a different point of view.

Seems to me that the bureaucrats and organzations have forever been devoted to blocking each other's activities in efforts supposedly beneficial to the public welfare. . . . . or stumbling over each other's red tape.

For instance: This group wants a freeway to go through here -- there usually are about five different special interest groups that get involved.

1 - This group is agin it.

2 - This group says, "A great idea but NIMBY.

3 - This group is campaigining against highways, freeways or new streets of any kind.

4 - This group is demanding so many on and off ramps that the project will become totally impossible from the economic as well as engineering standpoint. If they should get their way, the freeway would be a funnel to concentrate traffic into a horrendous JAM.

5 - This group, the "fat cats," lets call them is finagling in the attempt to see that the budget for the project is highly inflated and pumping for favored contractors and suppliers to do the job.

AND - - - the various groups usually form incestuous alliances hoping for part of the pork and / or advantages to come their way. Then there are the usual tomcat fights with opponents jumping from one brawl to another.

Then the cities, counties, states and Feds squabble among themselves trying to shift costs and responsibilities on to each other.

The Lobby as an institution representing the moneyed interests are going for the gold.

Then the media will get a wild hair and further complicate the issue with their "Chicken Little" attitude which is now driving our economy down.

And nothing is civilized, back door arrangements which by-pass all authority and sense of fairness don't help much.

It resembles in the over all outlook like an ant pile with the Top Kicked Off . . . . .
