THE WONDERING JEW
In The AM
Preparations to travel from early morning today 'til we left for the birthday party. It was Heather's and grandson's party -- they share a common birthday.
This was one whiz-bang party. No heads broke, no bad words (there never are).
The beauty of this party is that all of our kids were there, having fun, visiting and jollying Heather over the shower of gifts she was given.
Heather was aglow like one of those rare, technicolor sunsets having all the colors and arranged perfectly. She had several great grand babies to hold through the afternoon, by turns. Everybody began to leave so we went too. The six of us stopped at the Appleby's near our home and had a satisfying dinner and luckily we were in a rare, quiet corner and could converse with ease.
I have the alarm set for five AM and it is my duty to see that the family is up. We will go with them until they have their bags out of the vehicle, give them a hug and bon voyage and proceed to bring their car home and ours too. Their car will be stored in rented underground space at our complex, awaiting their return in May.
Their stay was not nearly long enough, but did give them an opportunity to visit and have fun without being driven by the clock or calendar.
Because their big vehicle can only hold them and their baggage it will be necessary for Heather and I to go in our car out there to ferry their car back. Of course we would have gone out to see them off anyhow.
Too soon, oh too soon comes the trek to the airport In The AM . . . . . . . .0 comments so far
