THE WONDERING JEW

Always

This dyspeptic old coot is ranting and driveling again. No good will come of it of course, I know that. But I will let off a barrage of, "It just ain't rights!" Using that safety valve to let off the steam of pent-up dislike of how our world is being run, mis-run, over-run and running over.

There is a truly deplorable thing going on, going on since I guess the beginning of man. But now we have the haves and have nots, more than ever before. People living in more or less a desert, an arid and barren land, who have not and haven't had the proverbial pot to wee-wee in, not enough food, damn little clothing, living in the rubble of one time hovels in an unforgiving land.

Who truly gives aid to these people? Who brings to them food, clothes, doctors, engineers and the necessary machinery to accomplish good in a decent and timely amount? Well most of the time NOBODY. Efforts are made that is true, but it seems to me that all rolled together that aid might be just a drop in the bucket.

A person made the observation that we have re-arranged the rubble that once was Afghanistan by our bombing program.

In another area, people of Palestine (whatever it is called now) have for ages depended on the Israelis to employ them. Hell its the only game in town for them. And they had a terrible time being allowed to get in to earn their wages. Instead of making a true effort of alleviation Israel has instead tightened the noose around the neck of their neighbors. Restricting their movements, starving them out really. There have been refugee Palestinians since the 1940's. Surely there should have been time for the Palestinians to say, "Heck, we are not getting anywhere by trying to wipe the Israelis off the map. Suppose we try to live peacefully with them and hold down the violence which kills more of us than them." And too, there has been enough time for the squabbling Israelis to put together a government that approaches things in a civilized and peaceful way. Not where one portion of the political scenery in Israel is striving to bring things to a steady state of fairness for all and the other portion squabbling amongst themselves and are themselves for wiping the Palestinians off the map. I sit here and shake my head again, what next? Irrestible force and Immovable object at loggerheads.

And we in the so-called civilized societies, what are we doing ? A little tithing aid and missionary work if permitted. What have we done to keep the production of arms and ammunition at a minimum? What is produced, what have we done to prevent it from being sold to opposing sides - - - - anywhere in the world?.

Where did all the guns and ammunition come from in the recent conflict in the Slavia's? Where did that shipload of armament destined for Palestinians come from? Why are things such as armament being sold to all comers not prevented from happening in the world. We always are fighting the wrong battles with the wrong tools, it looks like to me.

Why has our country, with its Super Power chest puffed up not stepped into Israel to say, "This far and no farther," rather than sending them unlimited materials of warfare? Why is it that peace between countries is the thing of last resort and only happens when one side is all but wiped out, and then keeping the remaining losers at a peon status? Are we as a world going to keep on doing the same thing over and over again, yet expecting different results each time? As an alcoholic, I finally decided that method has a flaw. Is this sorry state of affairs going to keep happening ? Looks like forever and Always . . . . . . .
