Of course no one from the White House could testify UNDER OATH. If they did, they might have to tell the truth. And I do read your journal every day - and always agree with you. I just don't comment much. I hope Heather is doing O.K. now.

This whoe U.S. Attorney thing is a joke. The Democrats are wasting time putting on a bit show for pure political reasons. There is absolutely nothing wrong with Bush dumping those eight attorneys. They serve at the pleasure of the president. When Clinton came into the White House one of the first things he did was fire all ninety-two or ninety-three of them. Bush could fire every single one of them tomorrow and it would still be perfectly legal. Please note this does not say anything at all about him being right (or wise) to do so. The Democrats hope that by creating enough noise they can damage the president (not giving a damn if they also harm the Presidency or the country), just more bread and circuses for their voter base. Maybe it will also hide the amount of pure pork spending they are piling on to the defense bill in an attempt to bribe enough votes to pass it. Twenty-five million dollars for California spinach growers who lost sales when people stopped buying contaminated spinach last year. The Democrats are at least every bit as venal and corrupt as the Republicans.
