I love spring, too. It has always been my favorite season.

Yes, Doug, I can remember life similar to what you recall except for the trolley -- they were gone before my time but apparently I did get to ride on some of the last trolley runs in Albany, NY in 1946 (I have only a vague memory of riding on a trolley with my uncle while visiting my mother's twin sister's family there.)

I love the start of spring more almost than any other time of the year, Doug. Like the old guys used to say years back: "Ah well. We've got through another winter." And now we must start building up our strength to enjoy Spring, Summer and Autumn... and make it through next Winter, too... :-)

Well you know I love spring. What I don't understand is play dates/ Do people purposely move far away from everyone else so that kids need to make appointments? Seems to ruin the whole concept of a good neighborhood, huh? You have to move away from the people you might want to see?

Doug, I grew up in St. Louis in the early 40's and can remember the coal deliveries too, inner tubes that were also great for floating in deeper creeks too, and cranking up the old car to get it started. Happy growing up days.
