It seems like the closer together the family problems hit, the harder they are to deal with. (We've just been through the deaths of both fo my husband's gradnmothers, two months apart. My in-laws know just how lucky they are to have had their mothers for so long, but that still doesn't make it easy to deal with.) Here's hoping the surgery succeeds and you have many more years of sharing the world (and memories of your son) with Don.
