I think I am in the minority, but I never cared for parades. I would take my children when they were young, but I haven't been to one since. Marching in one never seemed to be on my to do list either.

I can't remember the last time I went to a parade. The only one that appeals to me now is Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, but not enough to actually GO to it. Too much trouble, even though I'm only 70 miles from NYC.

Well, I never marched in one, though my kids did -- Scouts, Litle League. I loved 'em when I was a kid, but outgrew them... The last one I ever saw i person was the 1968 Rose Parade in Pasadena -- well worth the experience, but I don't think I'd want to do it again. I'll happily play or listen to march music -- a horse of a different color;-)

Oh they would have a conniption fit over high school ROTC these days. Oh dear, oh dear, children with guns, the sky is falling, we must ban this immediately. Zero tollerance! After all, it's for the CHILDREN!
