Dear Brudder, I can sympathize with your "family blanks" on a slightly different level. It would be nice to be able to fill in the blanks... and what we have is so very good. ;)

What a precious picture! I think a lot of us have gaps and blanks in our family trees, despite a lot of research. It's especially true of Jewish Americans who left family in Europe before the Holocaust. What puzzles me most, however, is that my siblings and I often received different versions of the same story -- from the same parent! I tend to go with my brother's tales from my dad -- man-t-man, y'know.
