One winter a few years back when I had it really bad, Doug, the local clinic loaned me a 'light visor', like an old-fashioned teller's cap, which shone a light down in front of my eyes, making it look for all the world as though the sun shone on demand. Worked a treat. They're pricey, but one of them would solve your space problem?

We'll help keep the black dog at bay... You're not alone in this. I tend to hibernate, cook much soup and read many books. Here's hoping it's a short winter for all of us. Big hug to you, darlin' Doug. -J

As each leaf falls I feel the black dog move in closer also. Maybe I can find a light this year. Hope we get more sun this winter.

I don't know a whole lot about SAD, but this might be a suggestion. I know you and your wife are on the go constantly, so why not make that work to your atvantage when you can. Instead of going grocery shopping during the day, why not go really early while the sun hasn't come up yet, say 5:00am? That wyould give you an extra hours of bright light or two a couple times a week. That is, of course if you have Walmart or Sams that are open 24/7. Just a thought.

I don't like the early darkness, but I do enjoy this crisp, cool weather we're enjoying here in the northeast. It's really lovely.
