I suppose that is a semi-okay diagnosis. But it's also one of those 'glass half full' things too. You're still in pain and have limited strength and mobility, hardly a real cup of cheer. Hope the injections bring quick relief. ~LA

I do hope the shot helps. It usually takes a couple of days for it to kick in.

I was thinking like LA was. That diagnosis was strange. Sort of like saying, "Hey, it's just a horrible headache, but it won't kill you." Strange. I hop the shot helps. My sister gets them and they work miracles for her.

While I'm sorry it's arthritis, having had shoulder trouble and surgery myself (and the promise of early arthritis) I'm glad you don't have something that's going to require surgery and extended rehabilitation given all your circumstances.

Yes,..."just arthritis" is a familiar diagnosis. Take care, Doug...and do have as happy a holiday as you can. A white Chrismas sounds wonderful...

Doug, what a bummer, being in pain over the holidays, actually anytime would be. I hope the new pain med helps.

Dear Doug, What a bummer indeed! I've lived with a torn rotator cuff for forty some years and an electic heating pad over a hot, moist towel does help alot. Seems moist heat is more penetrating somehow. You might give it a try if you haven't already. Glad they've given you some Percoset for the worst of it. Anything less isn't worth bothering with. Hugs

I hope you get some relief from the pain, Doug, whatever it takes. And I'm glad it's nothing worse than what you already knew you had.

Hope you find relief soon, Doug! Merry Christmas to you and yours.

Just dropping in to wish you and Heather a very Merry Christmas!

Ah, yes, Arthur Itis. Know him well. The shots will, ultimately, destroy what is left of the bone in there, but at 86 (?), I doubt that matters so much. At 53, it matters a lot, though. Anyway, you have a Merry and a Bright - Love from the Tiewok Family!

Doug I have not been able to comment for quite some time because I also have arthritis and it's very painful to try to write. Right now I am talking and I have some software that is writing the comment for me. It is a gift from my son because he knows how much I miss commenting and visiting my friends on xanga. I hope you soon have some relief from pain. Wishing you and Heather a very Merry Christmas. Hugs Edie Rose
